American Civil War Reenactment
October 2000 in Fresno, CA
Part I

For the eleventh time, the National Civil War Association presented the largest West Coast American Civil War reenactment at Kearney Park October 7-8, 2000 in Fresno, California. Titled “Civil War Revisited”, it attracted 1,200 plus reenactors as well as over 25,000 spectators. The Fresno Historical Society once again presented the 97th Regimental String Band--a very talented trio from the East Coast--who entertained before the battles as well as in an evening concert.
As you can tell, I did my best to photograph the camp scenes as well as the battles on Saturday. Especially interesting was the Confederate Field Hospital, which gave the visitors an idea of what the wounded soldiers' experienced after the battles.
